The Vinya els Vilars winery, part of the Costers del Segre DO, has been recognised for its clear commitment to organic production and the reduction of its carbon footprint. This effort has been highlighted by the appellation itself through a publication on social networks.
At a time when sustainability is key to the future of the wine sector, Vinya els Vilars has become a benchmark for the way it works, with practices that combine respect for the environment and an innovative vision. In this sense, the DO Costers del Segre, has highlighted the commitment of Vinya els Vilars in different publications on social networks, a gesture that we are grateful for from the winery, which is based on four fundamental axes:
- Regenerative viticulture and ECO certification: Vinya els Vilars listens to the soil and works the vineyard with respect, with ecological certification from the CCPAE.
- Self-consumption energy: The winery generates almost half of the energy it consumes through its own solar farm, significantly reducing CO₂ emissions.
- Sustainable packaging: The use of lighter bottles and the collaboration with local suppliers contribute to a significant reduction in the carbon footprint.
- This recognition is another step on the road to Biosphere certification, which accredits good practices in sustainability. Vinya elsVilars, with the Biosphere Committed seal, demonstrates that every small gesture is important to guarantee a greener future for everyone.
This initiative has the support of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, the collaboration of Ruralcat and the Wine in Moderation programme, which promotes responsible and sustainable consumption.
‘All together we make the DO Costers del Segre’ is the slogan that summarises the spirit of collaboration and sustainability that defines our community.
