Vinya els Vilars is once again opening the doors of its boot room to inaugurate a new exhibition that highlights the winery’s commitment to local art and culture. Next Thursday 26th June at 19.30h it will be the turn of Manuel Batalla, artistically known as ‘El Pintor Pastor’, who will present ‘Con mirada particular’ a new collection of paintings inspired by memory, silence and the rootedness in the territory.

On Thursday 26th June at 19:30, Vinya els Vilars will host a very special event: the inauguration of the exhibition of Manuel Batalla, artistically known as ‘El Pintor Pastor’. This exhibition represents a return full of emotion, memory and reluctance to the territory, as Batalla was the artist who inaugurated, in August 2015, the first art exhibition in the cellar’s barracks hall.

On that occasion, the exhibition coincided with the start of the Festa Major of Arbeca and marked the beginning of a path of cultural collaboration between the cellar and local artists. Batalla, a native of Arbeca and an active shepherd since the age of 14, presented a work marked by cubism and surrealism, inspired by the rural world and characters who suffer, often painted with watercolours in the countryside and finished with acrylics at home.

Now, with this new pictorial proposal, Manuel Batalla returns to the space that opened the doors to his new collection, an ode to silence, to the memory he has seen and to the land where he grew up, with works that are deeply intimate and full of symbolism.
